The Painted Quilt Series, No. 1 - 12x12"

$475.00

An Original Ash Cascade Painting - The Painted Quilt Series No. 1

I painted this series as a tribute to my grandmother — a true quilting master. I grew up wandering quilt shops at her side, choosing fabrics for projects that would wrap our family in warmth and care. Though I don’t sew (yet), I’ve carried that love forward in my own way. Today, I’m a fabric designer and painter, translating the patterns and spirit of quilting into a new medium.

These painted quilt blocks are my way of honoring the women who came before me — their hands, their craft, their quiet artistry. While I hope to learn to sew someday, when life slows and my children are older, for now I paint quilts. Layer by layer, brushstroke by brushstroke, I’m stitching stories in a different form — reimagining tradition, and holding space for where I come from and where I’m going.

  • Mixed Media on wood canvas with metallic and rustic crackle accents.

  • Locally made maple wood floater frame included

  • If you live in Bend, OR and would like to pick up your artwork rather than paying for shipping, select the “pickup” option during checkout.

  • Please note: The colors of this painting may appear differently in each of the product photos based on how the light was hitting the painting at the time the photo was taken. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to see any additional photos/videos of the artwork before making your purchase. :)
